Ichihara Satoyama Art Project
An art festival where artworks blend into the satoyama landscape. Abandoned schools and rice fields transform into extraordinary art venues.
Ichihara City hosts an art festival called "Ichihara Art Mix" utilizing the satoyama landscape. Abandoned schools, old folk houses, and rice fields along the Kominato Railway line become art venues, displaying works by domestic and international artists throughout the satoyama. Tours that explore the artworks by riding retro trolley trains are particularly popular. Visitors can also enjoy Yoro Keikoku hot springs and the "Observatory Where Earth Looks Round" near Tsukizaki Station. This offers a unique experience where art and nature merge together.
