Located at the southernmost point of Shikoku, Ashizuri Cape is a magnificent headland with a white lighthouse towering atop 80-meter-high steep cliffs. From the observation deck, you can view the Pacific Ocean in a stunning 270-degree panorama, experiencing the vastness of scenery so grand it lets you feel the curvature of the Earth. The surrounding area is filled with attractions including Kongo-fukuji Temple, associated with Kobo Daishi, and Hakusan Tunnel Gate, and the cape is also the 38th temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage. In winter, you can also enjoy whale watching.
