Tendo City produces approximately 95% of Japan's shogi pieces and is known as the 'city of shogi.' At Tendo Park, 'human shogi' is held in spring, where people wearing armor move as pieces on a giant shogi board. Year-round, the Tendo Shogi Museum offers a program where you can experience being a shogi piece while wearing armor. The experience of playing with authentic shogi boards and pieces used by professional players is also popular.
