Shirahama · Engetsu Island Sunset

Engetsu Island is the symbol of Shirahama, featuring a unique landscape with a sea cave (approximately 9m in diameter) opening in the center of the island. Around the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, a miraculous scene can be witnessed where the sunset sinks through this opening, attracting many photographers. As a scenic spot designated as a National Place of Scenic Beauty, the collaboration of the sky and sea dyed orange before sunset, along with the silhouette of Engetsu Island, is breathtakingly beautiful.
