Nanbu Plum Picking Experience

Minabe Town in Wakayama Prefecture is the birthplace of Nankō plums and boasts Japan's highest plum production volume. During the fully ripe plum season in June, you can experience plum picking in the tourist plum grove. Walking through the fragrant plum grove with its sweet aroma, the experience of picking yellow, fully ripened Nankō plums is an activity you can enjoy with all five senses. The harvested plums can be taken home and are perfect for making homemade plum wine or plum syrup. A tasting corner for plum juice and pickled plums is also available.
