Cloud Sea at Tsubetsu Pass and Rustic Hot Spring

Tsubetsu Pass Observation Platform is located at an altitude of 947 meters and is known for the cloud sea that completely covers Lake Kussharo in the early morning. The cloud sea that forms on early mornings from June to October on days with large temperature differences looks just like a white ocean. From the observation platform, you can also see Mt. Mashu and Mt. Shariyama. After descending, eating kumagaki (bear-shaped pancakes) at Aio Products Hall within Tsubetsu Town is a must. It's a scenic spot known only to those in the know.
