Toyama Prefecture's Takaoka City is the birthplace of Doraemon's creator, Fujiko F. Fujio. In front of Takaoka Station at Wing Wing Takaoka Plaza, bronze statues of familiar characters like Doraemon, Nobita, and Shizuka-chan are lined up, making it a very popular photo spot for children. Takaoka Otogi no Mori Park also features 'Doraemon's Vacant Lot' where you can play in a plaza with drain pipes. You can enjoy strolling through town while searching for Doraemon post boxes and manholes.
