A Stroll Through Yanaka's Cat Town

Yanaka is known as one of Tokyo's cities with the most cats, where you can encounter felines sunbathing in alleys and on walls. Along the walking path from Yanaka Ginza shopping street toward Nippori Station, you'll find cat-themed shops and cat cafes scattered throughout. As a temple town with about 70 temples gathered together, spending leisurely time with cats in quiet temple grounds is truly special. The sunset view from the Yuuyake Dandan stairs is beautiful, and a peaceful atmosphere flows here that doesn't feel like Tokyo at all.
