Nerikiri Experience at a Long-Established Japanese Confectionery Shop in Sumida Ward
Seasonal Nerikiri Japanese Sweets Making Experience Learned from Craftsmen at a Long-Established Shop in Sumida Ward
Sumida Ward has a Japanese confectionery shop that has been in operation since the Edo period. Under the guidance of craftsmen, we hold experience classes for making nerikiri Japanese sweets. Using white bean paste as a base, participants create 3-4 pieces of nerikiri designed to imitate the flowers and fruits of each season. The process of finishing delicate shapes using triangular sticks and spatulas is like creating small sculptures. The finished Japanese sweets can be enjoyed on the spot with matcha.
