Metasequoia Forest at Katsushika Mizumoto Park
葛飾区, Tokyo
Enjoy metasequoia tree-lined avenues and Japanese irises at Mizumoto Park, the largest wetland park in the metropolitan area
Mizumoto Park is the largest-class wetland park in the metropolitan area, spreading along Ogai Reservoir. The forest of approximately 1,500 metasequoia trees turns brilliant orange in autumn, creating a magnificent landscape that seems worlds away from the city. In June, around 14,000 Japanese irises of about 100 varieties bloom spectacularly, while wild birds such as kingfishers and herons visit the waterside. With barbecue grounds and a dog run available, it's popular with families.
