Kameido Tenjin Shrine is Tokyo's Tenmangu Shrine that enshrines Sugawara no Michizane. From late April to early May, the wisteria trellises on the shrine grounds bloom magnificently. The scenery of wisteria flowers reflected in the Shinjiji-ike pond with Tokyo Skytree in the background is among the most beautiful sights in Tokyo. During the wisteria festival period, illumination displays bring the fantastical wisteria trellises to life at night. The shrine also draws many visitors year-round seeking blessings for exam success.
