Ōboke Gorge Sightseeing Boat Experience

The Ōboke Gorge is a gorge carved by the violent rapids of the Yoshino River over approximately 200 million years, sculpting crystalline schist. During a 30-minute sightseeing boat cruise, you can experience stunning vistas up close—towering cliffs dozens of meters high viewed from the boat and a succession of distinctive rock formations. The contrast between the emerald-green waters and white rocky slopes is beautiful, and during autumn's foliage season, the entire gorge becomes a landscape reminiscent of a traditional brocade painting. The boatman's narration is entertaining as well.
