Iya Valley・Kosozu Kozo: A Spectacular Scenic Vista
The Kosozu Kozo statue standing on the sheer cliff of Iya Valley, with the grand panorama of the gorge spreading 200m below
Iya Valley is a deep V-shaped gorge continuing through one of Shikoku's most renowned hidden gems. The Kosozu Kozo statue stands at the tip of its cliff, an iconic symbol inspired by a local legend of children once testing their courage there. Looking down from the statue's feet to the valley floor approximately 200m below is breathtakingly striking. During autumn's fall foliage season, the entire gorge is painted in shades of red and yellow, revealing Shikoku's most spectacular scenery. It's recommended to visit together with Kazura Bridge.
