Senjogahara in Oku-Nikko is a vast wetland spanning approximately 400 hectares where grass autumn colors reach their peak from late September through October. While walking along well-maintained wooden boardwalks, you can enjoy spectacular trekking with views of larch forests glowing in gold and the magnificent Nantai Mountain. The hiking course from Akanuma to Yutaki waterfall takes about 2 hours and is easy for beginners to navigate, allowing for leisurely progress with rest stops at Senmonike Pond along the way. Early mornings offer a magical landscape enveloped in mist.
