Teshio Clam Digging Experience

The area near the mouth of the Teshio River, which flows into the Sea of Japan, is a producer of high-quality Japanese littleneck clams. In summer, you can experience clam digging at the riverbank, mingling with local people. When you wade into the water up to your knees and dig through the sand, black, large clams come pouring out.
