An island surrounded by emerald-green waters, known as the 'Island of Love'
Kouri Island is a small island accessible from the northern part of Okinawa Main Island via the Kouri Bridge. The scenic drive with emerald-green waters spreading on both sides of the bridge is popular, and Heart Rock (a heart-shaped rock) is known as a sacred place for lovers. It is the 'Island of Love,' where a Ryukyuan version of the Adam and Eve legend remains.
