Sakurajima is an active volcano that towers across from Kagoshima city and continues to emit volcanic smoke. From the observation deck, you can view the crater and lava fields up close. The Sakurajima Ferry provides convenient access in about 15 minutes one way, and you can also enjoy foot baths and hot springs.
