Ginkaku-ji (official name: Jisho-ji Temple) is a World Heritage temple that originated from the Higashiyama-den built by Ashikaga Yoshimasa in 1482. Although silver leaf is not applied, it embodies the spirit of wabi-sabi, finding profound beauty in simplicity. The Kogetsu-dai moon-viewing platform and Ginshadai silver sand gardens are also distinctive.
