Shosenkyo is a gorge approximately 5km in length formed by the erosion of the Ara River, and is known as Japan's finest gorge beauty. Granite rock formations with unique shapes line the gorge, with notable spots such as Senno Falls (30m drop) and Kakuenpo Peak scattered throughout. The autumn foliage is particularly beautiful, attracting many visitors.
