Sahoro River Gorge of Shintoku
新得町, Hokkaido
A little-known autumn foliage gorge stretching along the Sahoro River in Shintoku Town
In the upper reaches of the Sahoro River that flows through Shintoku Town in Tokachi, there is a beautiful gorge known to those in the know. In autumn, the broad-leaved trees turn red and yellow, creating a splendid autumn foliage spot in contrast to the clear waters. While the walking paths are well-maintained, few visitors come here, allowing for quiet autumn leaf viewing. It's also wonderful to enjoy forest bathing while listening to the babbling stream.
