In the Sahoro Forest in Shimukappu Village, mushroom foraging experience tours are held in autumn. Walk through primeval forest with expert guides and harvest natural mushrooms such as Larch Mushrooms (Hanaiguchi) and Armillaria (Naratake). Freshly picked mushrooms are cooked on-site into miso soup or butter sauté and enjoyed. This experience program is packed with forest wisdom, where you can also learn how to distinguish edible mushrooms from poisonous ones.
