Visiting Taikodani Inari Shrine in Tsuwano
Experience worshipping at Taikodani Inari Shrine, where a thousand vermillion torii gates stretch across the mountainside, overlooking the Little Kyoto of Sanin
Taikodani Inari Shrine, one of Japan's Five Great Inari Shrines, is a spectacular viewpoint where approximately 1,000 vermillion torii gates line the mountainside. When you reach the top of the pathway, there's an observation deck where you can take in a panoramic view of Tsuwano's townscape, with beautiful scenery unfolding through each season. Especially during autumn foliage season, the contrast between the vermillion torii gates and the fall colors is stunning. After your visit, a stroll through the castle town is also highly recommended.
