Shigaraki is one of Japan's six ancient kilns, renowned nationwide for its charming tanuki figurines. From in front of Shigaraki Station to the Pottery Forest area, around 50 kilns and shops are scattered throughout. You can purchase a wide variety of Shigaraki ware including tanuki figurines, tableware, flower vases, lighting fixtures, and more. Contemporary artist creations are also available, and many tourists enjoy visiting to scout locations from the morning drama 'Scarlet'.
