The Nagatoro rock shelves in Nagatoro Town, Saitama Prefecture form a massive rock formation spanning approximately 50 meters wide and 600 meters long along the Arakawa River. Designated as a National Scenic Spot and Natural Monument, walking on these rock shelves allows you to experience the crystal-clear, azure waters of the Arakawa River right below you. The contrast with the Chichibu Red Cliff on the opposite bank is equally striking. Enjoy cherry blossoms in spring, shaved ice in summer, and autumn leaves in fall—beautiful throughout the seasons. It's recommended to visit in combination with the Arakawa line cruise.
