Every summer, in Kawashima, Saitama, giant 'rice field art' is created by planting rice of different colors in local paddies. When viewed from the observation deck, intricate designs emerge on the canvas of the rice fields—a spectacular sight. It's a community-centered event where local residents and children participate from the rice planting stage, and the changing colors as the rice grows is also an appeal. The best viewing period is around July to September.
