Matchmaking Wind Chimes of Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine

Every summer, the "Matchmaking Wind Chimes" festival is held at Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine, with approximately 2,000 glass wind chimes hung from the covered walkways within the shrine grounds. The refreshing tones produced by colorful wind chimes swaying in the breeze provide a moment of coolness during the hot summer months. At night, they are illuminated, creating a fantastical sight with twinkling wind chimes. As Hikawa Shrine is renowned as a matchmaking shrine, many couples write their wishes on the chime tags and hang them.
