日高市, Saitama
Spectacular autumn scenery where 5 million red spider lilies paint the riverbed crimson at Kinchakuda, Hidaka City
Kinchakuda is a flatland formed by the meandering Koma River and shaped like a pouch. From mid-September to early October each year, approximately 5 million red spider lilies (Higanbana) paint the entire area a deep crimson. Known as Japan's largest red spider lily colony, the red carpet of blooms beneath dappled sunlight is dreamlike and magical. During the Manjusaka Festival period, local food stalls line the area, and it bustles with many visitors.
