Arita Town is the birthplace of Japanese porcelain and a production area for Arita ware with approximately 400 years of history. The town has about 150 kiln studios and trading companies, where you can purchase Arita ware at reasonable prices through direct sales shops and outlet stores. A wide range of works from traditional underglaze blue decoration to contemporary designs are available, making it an irresistible spot for tableware enthusiasts. The annual Arita Pottery Festival held in April to May attracts approximately 1.2 million visitors.
