Sumiyoshi Taisha is the head shrine of approximately 2,300 Sumiyoshi Shrines nationwide and has a history of over 1,800 years. Its main hall, featuring the unique architectural style known as 'Sumiyoshi-zukuri,' is designated as a National Treasure, and the vermillion taiko bridge (arched bridge) is beloved by many visitors as a symbol of Sumiyoshi Taisha. During New Year's visits, over 2 million people come, making it one of Osaka's most representative hatsumōde destinations. The grounds are rich with points of interest, including the Five Power Stones and a monument to Issun Bōshi.
