Sumiyoshi Taisha is the head shrine of approximately 2,300 Sumiyoshi Shrines throughout the country and Osaka's oldest shrine, boasting 1,800 years of history. Its symbolic arch bridge (taiko bridge) features beautifully steep arches, and it is said that crossing it alone purifies you. The four National Treasure main shrines in the Sumiyoshi architectural style are an unparalleled architectural form, and approximately 2.3 million people visit during New Year's shrine visits. Spots such as searching for five-power stones and petting rabbit statues are also popular for attracting good fortune.
