The Wild Coastline of Moshiri Cape, Oribe
興部町, Hokkaido
An uninhabited cape jutting into the Sea of Okhotsk, a hidden region where pristine coastlines extend
Moshiri Cape in Oribe Town is a hidden region where undeveloped, primitive coastlines remain. The cape jutting into the Sea of Okhotsk has almost no artificial structures, with uniquely-shaped rocks carved by rough waves and beaches where wild seals rest. In winter, drift ice approaches the shore, creating a grand spectacle where a pristine white ice field covers the coast. Very few people visit, making it a place where you can have Hokkaido's primordial landscape all to yourself.
