The sanshin, Okinawa's traditional instrument, is a three-string instrument made with snake skin and is the heart of Okinawan music. At the experience classroom in Naha, you'll be taught everything from how to hold the sanshin to basic playing techniques, and in a 60-minute lesson you'll be able to play simple songs like 'Tears Apart' and 'Island Song.' The sanshin's simple and warm tone is perfect for Okinawa's scenery, and the joy of playing it yourself is exceptional. You can also take a rental sanshin with you and play it at your travel destination.
