Okinawa Ryukyu Glass Blowing Experience
Glass making experience through glass blowing at a Ryukyu Glass workshop born from post-war discarded bottles
Ryukyu Glass originated after the war when discarded bottles like Coca-Cola bottles left by the US military were melted down to create it. Today, it is a representative craft of Okinawa and is popular for its vibrant colors. At the workshop in Yomitan Village, you can experience making glasses and bowls by blowing air into molten glass. Craftspeople provide careful support, so even beginners can feel at ease. You can pick up the finished pieces from the next day onward, and they become a memorable keepsake from your Okinawa trip.
