Okinawa Bingata Dyeing Experience
Hand-dyeing experience with bingata, a dyeing technique that has continued since the Ryukyu Kingdom era. Create your own unique masterpiece with vivid colors.
Bingata is an Okinawan representative dyeing technique that was used for clothing of royalty and nobility during the Ryukyu Kingdom era. The process of placing resist paste using stencils and dyeing patterns with vivid colors is highly artistic, and even beginners can create original coasters and bags in the experience workshops. Traditional patterns with motifs of tropical flowers such as hibiscus and Deigo are popular. The completed works can be taken home the same day, becoming a special memento of your Okinawa trip.
