Noboribetsu Kids Jigokudani Science
登別市, Hokkaido
A children's workshop where kids learn about how volcanoes work using the steam vents and hot springs of Jigokudani
Noboribetsu Onsen's Jigokudani hosts a children's volcano science program. Participants observe steam rising from geothermal vents, measure hot spring temperatures with thermometers, and test acidity with pH test paper—experiencing science experiments in the heart of nature. We answer simple questions like 'Why are hot springs warm?' and 'Why does it smell like eggs?' right in front of the natural phenomena themselves. It's an experience that awakens wonder about the mysteries of our planet.
