Sado · Senkakauchi Bay Ageshima Park
佐渡市, Niigata
Sightseeing around the steep cliffs carved by the Japan Sea on Sado Island and its exceptionally clear waters
Senkakauchi Bay is a coastal scenic spot spanning approximately 3km located in the northwestern part of Sado Island. With steep cliffs and unusual rock formations carved by the rough waves of the Japan Sea, it is said to rival Norway's Hardangerfjord in scenery. At Ageshima Park, a glass-bottomed boat cruise is popular, allowing visitors to explore the seabed while navigating between the cliffs. The high-clarity emerald green waters are truly breathtaking.
