Niigata Ponshu-kan Sake Tasting Experience

Ponshu-kan, directly connected to JR Niigata Station, is an experiential facility that brings together sake from all approximately 90 breweries in Niigata Prefecture. For 500 yen, you can purchase 5 medals and sample your preferred brands from sake tasting machines lined along the walls. From dry to sweet sake and fruity ginjo varieties, you'll experience the diversity of Niigata's sake culture. There are also tasting corners for miso and soy sauce, and you can enjoy sake baths as well, making it perfect as the start or finale of a Niigata trip.
