Takada Castle Ruins Park in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, is a famous spot counted as one of Japan's three greatest night cherry blossom viewing locations. In spring, when approximately 4,000 Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms bloom in full splendor, the 'Takada Castle Ruins Park Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival' is held, and the magnificent scene of cherry blossoms lit by approximately 3,000 lanterns reflected on the surface of the inner moat is breathtaking.
