Echigo Yuzawa is the production area of premium Uonuma-produced Koshihikari rice. At local experience facilities, you can experience rice cooking using traditional iron pots and kamados. Starting from washing freshly harvested rice sourced directly from local farmers, it's a genuine experience of cooking while adjusting the heat from firewood. The freshly cooked rice is made into salted rice balls and enjoyed with local pickled vegetables, sasa dumplings, and hegi soba. Many participants are amazed by the sweetness and stickiness of the rice.
