Kashihara Shrine is a shrine dedicated to the first Emperor, Emperor Jinmu, and is known as the birthplace of Japan's founding. The vast grounds of approximately 530,000 square meters spread at the foot of Mount Unebi, a refreshing space covered with deep forest. The solemn appearance of the main hall in irimoya style and the kagura hall is spectacular. The adjacent Kashihara Archaeological Institute Museum displays artifacts from the Asuka and Fujiwara periods. On New Year's Day and Foundation Day, the shrine is bustling with many visitors.
