Nakadombetsu's hidden gem sightseeing - touring Hokkaido's only limestone cave and surrounding nature
Nakadombetsu Limestone Cave, located in Nakadombetsu Town, is Hokkaido's only tourist limestone cave. Formed from a coral reef that uplifted approximately 100 million years ago, this limestone cavern stretches about 120 meters in length and can be explored inside. The surrounding area is developed as an eco-museum centered on Pinneshiri Peak, where visitors can enjoy forest walks and birdwatching.
