Handmade Soba at Komoro Old Castle

Komoro City spreads at the foot of Asama Mountain, a castle town with historically significant sites centered around Kaiko Garden (Komoro Castle Site). The castle town area is home to many renowned handmade soba shops, known especially for the rich aroma of their Shinshu soba. The autumn foliage season at Kaiko Garden is particularly beautiful, and a popular course involves exploring the historical sites followed by savoring soba. The city is also associated with the writer Shimizaki Toson.
