Chikuma and Ooshio Terraced Rice Fields and Night View

Ooshio in Chikuma City is counted among Japan's three greatest views from train windows, a spectacular scenery destination. Approximately 1,500 terraced rice fields spread across the slope, and the 'Moon Reflected in Each Field' – where moonlight reflects in water like a mirror after rice planting – is a famous scenery that even Matsuo Basho composed about.
