Mojiko Retro is a tourist area that makes use of the group of historic buildings remaining in the Mojiko area, which flourished as an international trade port from the Meiji through Taisho eras. Imposing Western-style buildings such as the Former Mojiko Mitsui Club and the Former Osaka Shosen Building stand in rows, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The specialty baked curry sees more than 30 establishments competing with each other, allowing visitors to enjoy each restaurant's original flavor. Popular spots also include an observation room with views of the spectacular Kanmon Strait scenery and the Kanmon Tunnel Pedestrian Path that connects to Shimonoseki on the opposite shore.
