Takachiho Gorge Rental Boats

The Takachiho Gorge in Takachiho Town, Miyazaki Prefecture is a gorge with towering cliffs formed by pyroclastic flows from Mt. Aso that cooled and solidified. The rental boats that allow close-up views of the Manai Falls, which drops approximately 17 meters, are a highlight of Takachiho sightseeing. The experience of paddling across the emerald-green water while gazing up at the columnar jointed cliffs on both sides is spectacular. There's also the thrill of getting close enough to be splashed by the falls. Since it operates on a reservation basis, booking in advance is recommended.
