Columnar Jointing of the Hyuga-Umase Coast

Umase is a sea cliff with columnar jointing located in Hyuga City, featuring approximately 70m high sheer cliffs facing the Pacific Ocean—an impressive scenic spot. From the lookout, you can gaze directly down at rock faces fractured in regular columnar patterns like stone pillars, and the sight of rough Pacific waves crashing against them is breathtaking. Along the walking path, there's also Crusu no Umi (the sea that appears as a cross), which is popular as a spot where wishes come true.
