The Nichinan Coast is a coastal drive route connecting Miyazaki City to Nichinan City, offering continuous tropical scenery woven by Phoenix palm avenues and the blue Pacific Ocean. The view from Horikiri Pass is a scenic point selected for Japan's 100 Best Roads. Along the way, attractions such as Moai statues at Sunmesse Nichinan and the clifftop shrine buildings of Udo Jingu are continuous, making it a drive course you'll want to leisurely explore over a full day. Surf spots are scattered throughout, making the coastline popular with surfers as well.
