Exploring Ise's Oharaimachi and Okage Yokocho

Oharaimachi stretches approximately 800 meters before the gates of Ise Grand Shrine's Inner Shrine, an atmospheric street lined with traditional gabled-roof architecture. In the middle stands Okage Yokocho, an area recreating the Edo to Meiji period streetscape where you can enjoy eating while walking through Ise specialties including Akafuku mochi from Akafuku Main Store, Ise udon, and te-kone sushi. With approximately 50 shops lined up, it's also an ideal spot for souvenir shopping.
