Experience Ueno Castle boasting Japan's highest stone walls and the mechanical tricks of the ninja mansion
Iga Ueno Castle was built by Todō Takatora, and its approximately 30-meter high stone walls boast the highest height in Japan. From within the castle, you can overlook the Iga Basin, and a castle town spreads out, also known as the birthplace of Matsuo Basho. At the adjacent Iga-ryū Ninja Museum, you can observe demonstrations of ninja mansion mechanical tricks (revolving doors, hidden rooms) and also enjoy a shuriken throwing experience. Ninja costume rentals are also popular.
