Experience harvesting sugar beets (beets), the raw material for Japan's sugar, in Makubetsu Town in the Tokachi Plain. In autumn, you'll work with farmers to pull large, white radish-like beets from the ground. You can also taste beet syrup made from the harvested beets and learn about the sugar-making process. A valuable experience to discover the depth of Hokkaido agriculture.
